how to cook your dumplings: 3 ways

Pan-Fry

1. Heat ~2 tbsp neutral oil in a nonstick pan over medium heat. You want more than just a spray but not so much that you're deep frying them.

2. Place frozen dumplings flat-side down once your pan is at temp.

3. Cook 2–3 minutes until bottoms are golden brown. It should be easy to lift and check the undercarraige for color.

4. Grab a lid and add a quarter inch of water to the pan (amount varies by pan size but approx. 1 cup). Be VERY careful and make sure the lid is partly covering the pan as the oil may spatter initially.

5. Steam for 6–7 minutes with lid on until fully cooked.

6. Remove lid and cook 1–2 more minutes to crisp the bottoms allow all water evaporate. If water is still present they will likely be stuck to the pan still.

7. Take off heat. If dumplings are a bit stuck to the pan, use a wooden spatula to gently nudge them free an onto your plate.

Steam

1. Bring a pot of water to a boil OR add water to your rice cooker with steaming basket.

2. Apply oil or parchment paper to your steamer basket to avoid sticking.

3. Place dumplings inside once water is at full boil OR inside and turn on your cooker.

4. Make sure to space them out! They will stick together.

5. Steam for 11 minutes and remove with tongs (carefully) to plate.

Boil

1. Bring a pot of water OR YOUR FAVORITE SOUP BASE to a boil.

2. Add frozen dumplings, allow water / soup base to return to boil.

3. Cook 8 minutes from boil until dumplings float.

4. For soup, add your noodles / additional ingredients and time with dumpling completion (varies).

5. Remove with slotted spoon or enjoy with your soup creation.
